Counselling for Menopause

Everyone is affected by menopause…before you eyeroll and decide this is not for you please read-on, this information and the help that counselling may offer you really is for everyone.

When I say everyone, I mean the person going through this stage of their life and all those around them – partners, children, other relatives, colleagues. Did you know there are more than 34 symptoms of menopause? Many people are stunned at the range of feelings and physical symptoms which can happen.

It may be that you are feeling physically different plus noticing some unusual thoughts and feelings creeping-in. It’s is quite common for people in peri-menopause and menopause to begin to feel unlike they have ever felt before, confidence can take a dive, they begin to look different and feel differently towards their partner. Partners wonder what’s going on, they may well be very understanding, however, changes in the relationship can be a real challenge and cause a partner to wonder how their role is changing too.

Typically menopause happens around the time that children are in their teenage years or leaving home; when parents are ageing and those roles are changing; just as a career is really developing; when other health concerns are developing. There are many more variables including experiencing early or surgical menopause. Which ever other factors are in your life – it’s unusual for there to be just one thing.

This is where counselling and a safe place to talk things through can help. I can be by your side, whatever your part in the menopausal stage, whatever your age, I’m here for you.
