Some areas where counselling may be helpful are low mood, anxiety, grief, relationship problems, lack of confidence, ageing, menopause, children leaving home, coping with illness, depression, anger and general feelings of being unable to cope with day-to-day demands.

I help people get to the heart of what’s really bothering them. In my own life, I’ve been through good times, bad times and the best of times – the best are, in my mind, the times when life gently moves along without anyone noticing.

Devised by Carl Rogers, Person Centred Counselling is based on the assumption that a client seeking help in the resolution of a problem they are experiencing, can enter into a relationship with a counsellor who is sufficiently accepting and permissive to allow the client to freely express any emotions and feelings. This will enable the client to come to terms with negative feelings, which may have caused emotional problems, and develop inner resources. The aim is for the client to become able to see themself as a person, with the power and freedom to change.
