Bring Yourself to Therapy

Here's the first four things I say to prospective counselling clients about what to expect when you meet me for therapy.
1. You turn up, I accept you as you are
2. As 1.
3. As 1.
4. As 1.

People "That's a bit weird"

Me "Not at all, I've been in situations where I feel judged, feel analysed, this won't happen in my room. In my room, I really want you to know that I accept you as you are."

People "Ohhhh"

Me: "Come to your session, be comfy, no need to look me in the eye, I fidget, I consider my words, I listen really attentively and hope I can attune to what you need to say, when you're ready - and that this will help"

People: "Ohhh"

Me: "Yes, this definitely is the starting point. Bring yourself, let's see if we click."

I wonder how this lands with others, what would it feel like to be gently seen? Shall we talk, contact me now to book a free 15-minute chat to see if can work together.
